DESCRIPTION
Mt. Tengu is a 532-meter mountain located just outside central Otaru. It has long been regarded as one of the city's most iconic landmarks and offers some of the finest views in Hokkaido.
The easiest way to reach the summit is via the Mt. Tengu Ropeway, which takes visitors to the top in approximately four minutes. During the ride, passengers can enjoy beautiful views of Otaru City, the Sea of Japan, and the surrounding mountains.
At the summit, visitors will find several observation decks with panoramic views overlooking Otaru and Ishikari Bay. The scenery changes dramatically throughout the seasons, from lush greenery in summer to colorful foliage in autumn and snow-covered landscapes in winter.
Mt. Tengu is especially famous for its night views and has been selected as one of Hokkaido's top three night-view spots. The combination of city lights, the harbor, and the surrounding mountains creates a breathtaking atmosphere.
